Training & Workforce Development

Sokoto House is a training center, offering programs to improve life skills, safety and emergency response awareness, employment readiness, professional development, and personal marketability.

Some of these courses require fees, but we hope to establish scholarships to offset these costs. All training is supported by subject matter experts using nationally-recognized curricula and materials.

Below are a few programs offered through the Sokoto House. Use the contact form to let us know if you need any of the classes listed or if you have other training needs. We can schedule classes for individuals or groups in a safe environment with proper Covid precautions.

Basic Life Support

The Basic Life Support program is an American Heart Association (AHA) approved set of courses that will teach you how to respond to an emergency medical situation. It includes the Heartsaver® and HeartCode® courses.

"Heartsaver® courses are designed for anyone with little or no medical training who needs a course completion card for job, regulatory (for example, OSHA), or other requirements. These courses can also be taken by anyone who wants to be prepared for an emergency in any setting. For many Heartsaver courses, students receive a course completion card that is valid for 2 years." Subjects include: CPR, AED, bloodborne pathogens, and first aid for adults, children, and infants.

"HeartCode® courses combine online learning with hands-on CPR skills practice to ensure competency."
